Madonna - Mother Africa

Ok here's what I have to say about this whole Madonna African baby thing. And actually this goes for all people who leave the country to adopt children. Are their children living in object poverty, unbelievably despondent conditions, with no running water, little or no food, no clothes, and AIDS? Absolutely! But if you want to "save" a child and give a child a better life - go to your LOCAL Dept of Children Services and adopt a child from this country, living under the same EXACT conditions.

This child, David, that Madonna has supposedly adopted, has a father and has a grandmother. And although they were unable to care for him he was NOT an orphan. I agree with the NY Daily News, if Madonna wanted to save this child from his plight in life why didn't she give money to the father, why didn't she, a la Oprah, offer a solution to help the ENTIRE family? SO this kids is going off to live the high life w/Madonna and Guy and his dad and grandma still get to suffer? What is wrong with this picture.

Should Madonna be PRAISED for the selfless effort? Not really. Sure she's being compared to Angelina Jolie and people are wondering why she is being criticized when Angelina wasn't. Why is Madonna being compared to a slave trader? Maybe it because it smells like this "Queen of Reinvention" is spinning the tragedy of this little boy and this African nation to her advantage.

But does Madonna speak this child's language? Does she know the customs of his country? Does she know anything about African culture? Is she going to attempt to retain his culture and connection to his family? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Am I the only one who remembers that Madonna wanted to have a "Black" baby with Dennis Rodman? Guess it to took her a while but she got one! Ok that was mean....
